Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the VocaGrow mobile app and the vocagrow.com website. By installing the app or using the site, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use VocaGrow.

1. Who we are

"VocaGrow", "we" and "us" refers to the team that builds and operates the app. You can reach us at support@vocagrow.com.

2. Your account

VocaGrow doesn't require an account — all learning features work locally on your device. An optional free account (email + password, or Sign in with Google / Apple) unlocks online play: duels with friends and the global leaderboard. Guest sessions (anonymous, no email) can play online too.

You're responsible for keeping your credentials safe and for activity under your account.
Pick a sensible display name — names that are offensive, misleading or impersonate someone may be reset by us.
We may reset ratings or suspend accounts that cheat, exploit bugs, or abuse multiplayer.

If you subscribe to Pro, billing is handled by Google Play or the App Store. Cancellation, renewal and refunds follow that store's standard rules — we cannot issue refunds directly.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Reverse-engineer, decompile or extract the app's source code beyond what local law explicitly permits.
Use the app to harass, abuse, or harm others — including other players in duels and the AI tutor's prompt input (Google's Gemini terms apply).
Cheat, automate play, or manipulate the duel rating / leaderboard.
Attempt to circumvent the Pro paywall, AI fair-use limits, or interfere with our analytics / crash-reporting in ways that affect other users.
Re-distribute the app's content (vocabulary packs, stories, memes, illustrations) outside personal study.

4. AI tutor

The AI tutor is included with the Pro subscription and runs on Google's Gemini models through our infrastructure. To keep it fast and affordable for everyone, fair-use limits apply (for example, a daily message cap); we may adjust them over time. Advanced users can instead add a personal Gemini API key in Settings — in that case you are responsible for keeping the key secure and for any usage charges Google bills you.

AI responses are generated, not curated. They may be inaccurate. Don't use the tutor as a substitute for professional advice.

5. Subscription & billing (Pro)

Pro is offered via Google Play Billing or the Apple App Store as a recurring monthly or yearly subscription.
Both plans include a 3-day free trial unless otherwise stated. You'll be charged at the end of the trial unless you cancel.
Cancel any time in your store's subscriptions settings. Pro perks remain active until the end of the current billing period.
Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice; you'll be asked to re-confirm before any increase applies to your subscription.

6. Content & intellectual property

All app code, brand artwork (including the Voca mascot), curated vocabulary packs, reading stories, memes, sound design and illustrations are © VocaGrow and protected by copyright. You're free to use the app for personal study; you're not free to mirror, re-publish or commercialise that content.

Custom vocabulary words and notes you create inside the app belong to you, and the app keeps them on your device.

7. Availability & changes

We aim to keep VocaGrow working smoothly but make no uptime promises — online features (duels, leaderboard, AI) depend on third-party infrastructure and may be temporarily unavailable. We may add, remove, or change features at any time. If a change materially reduces what you paid for as a Pro subscriber, we'll offer a pro-rated refund.

8. Disclaimers & liability

VocaGrow is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent allowed by law, our liability for any loss arising out of your use of the app is limited to the amount you paid us in the past twelve months (which may be zero).

9. Termination

You can stop using VocaGrow at any time by uninstalling the app and (optionally) tapping Settings → Delete my data; email us to remove your account records too. We may suspend or terminate access — including accounts that seriously breach these terms — but we'll explain why first if it's at all reasonable to do so.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ukraine, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that can't be resolved by friendly conversation go to the competent courts at our place of business — though as an EU/UK consumer you keep any rights granted by your local law.
